Thomas Edison
I believe that Thomas Edison is one of the greatest inventors of all time. Mainly because he was a great scientist and a really interesting person. He was a smart and interesting kid. He spent most of his time reading technical and scientific books. He was born in February 11, 1847 in Milan, Ohio. He actually learned to operate the telegraph at a really young age. The telegraph was the first step of communication. But he began his real career in Newark, New Jersey where he invented the cylinder phonograph. The word phonograph was the trade name for Edison’s devise, which played cylinders rather than actual discs. The machine had two needles one for recording and one to playback. This cylinder phonograph was the first that could reproduce and record sound. He studied science and chemistry which led him to improve a fifty year old idea. Many scientist before him had thought about turning electricity into light. Many historians believe that twenty inventors worked to create the design of the light bulb. Like Sir. Humphry Davy, Warren the La rue and so on.

In 1879 he discovered that he can improve the time of the incandescent, electric light. He discovered that the carbon filament in an oxygen free bulb glowed for forty hours. Also he changed the shape of the filament which made the bulb glow longer. But before Ser Thomas Edison could start making his millions he had to invent every single one of these elements.
1.a parallel circuit
2.a durable light bulb
3.an improved dynamo
4.the underground conductor network,
5.the devises for maintaining constant voltage
6.safety fuses and insulting materials,
7.light sockets with on-off switches

After careful trial he developed both practical and reproducible components. Then the first public demonstration of the Thomas Edison incandescent lighting system had taken place in December 1879.When the Menlo, Park laboratory complex actually became electrically lighted that was amazing. His fifty year old improvement of the bulb has impacted every single day of are lives there’s not one day that can go by without using a single strand of electricity. We use it when we wake up in the mornings to turn on the light or to watch T.V. I don’t think are world could survive without our electricity these days. The light bulb lights up our night but, nearly two century's ago people dint know about this great incandescent light which I'm shore it made it harder for them in those times.

There has been changes sense the incandescent light bulb came to place. They have created the light bulb that takes up 75% less electricity and also last longer then the regular bulb. It’s the fluorescent bulb it’s much more efficient than the regular light bulb.

I don’t think the world could live on with out his great improvement of the incandescent light bulb because we use it every day. Everything we use for light is either the sun that lights are beautiful sky, our bulb to light our homes. Before Edison came a long people had to use gas lamps which were really dangerous, easy to start a fire. Then he discovered that a small carbonized filament and an improved vacuum inside the globe made it a reliable and made it a safe long lasting light bulb. Surely Edison's great improvement started inspiring people to try out knew things like they later invented the T.V and a lot of things we use today is runed by electricity which started with the help of Sir Mr. Edison. I think the world could not survive without Sir Thomas Edison’s improvement of the bulb never less electricity. This is why I believe Thomas Edison to be one of the greatest inventors of all time.
